When asked who springs to mind when the words 'Baywatch'
and 'Beauty' are mentioned, people immediately think of Pamela
Anderson. However, long before Pam hit the beach as lifeguard CJ
Parker, Shawn Weatherly, one of the original Baywatch beauties, kept
beachgoers safe as lifeguard Jill Riley.
The ill-fated Jill was later attacked and killed by a great white shark as Shawn
had decided she wanted to leave the show for more challenging roles.
Prior to Baywatch, Shawn was already a well known face in the USA
having been crowned Miss Universe in 1980 as well as having TV
appearances in well known TV shows such as 'The Dukes of Hazzard'
and 'TJ Hooker' to name but a few.
