During the first season of Baywatch Shawn portrayed
lifeguard Jill Riley. Greg Bonann designed the characters to be
based on some of the real life lifeguards who were in service at the
time the show was being filmed. The character of Jill Riley was
based on the real lifeguard Diane Grainer who bears a striking
resemblance to Shawn herself.
